Speaking of depth, DF is apparently adding a new update soonish which is suppose to be as significant as when they added z-levels to the game. I prefer having fewer pawns to control solely because it feel like you have an actual connection to the characters, and it you feel more attached to the gameplay knowing each role is an important asset to have for each colonist.īut again, it's still in early access and Rimworld didn't have world travel in the past like it has now, so i'm hopeful the end product will have more depth to it with complex buildings to create, even maybe a new underground level to explore. It just looks like the type of game for a very specific audience, while Rimworld appeals to a wider range, for one given reason is that Dwarf Fortress' UI is practically non-existent, and i feel that even after 500 hours of playtime of dwarf fortress, i still wouldn't get fully into it, which it isn't always a good thing for me.īigger is not better to me in terms of pawns. It's a shame really because the game has clearly more depth and variety, and i wish Rimworld had z-levels and actual water physics with an actual lore. I might probably enjoy some of it and get used to it but overall it's not something i would play as much as i would on Rimworld. I don't find Dwarf Fortress as appealing, it seems too raw for me, including the combat. Rimworld is pretty fun, although not really as good as DF in- really any way.
